Protecting Military Installations from Encroachment

Florida’s military installations face encroachment challenges but the state protects them from mission impacts by taking a proactive approach.

There are multiple ways activities and development can encroach upon a current military mission whether by incompatible development on the ground or above ground and into the airspace, through unattended autonomous vehicles such as drones, and broach use of frequencies. We must ensure the assigned military units and our installations remain capable of conducting all of their missions without impact.
