Military Base Protection Program (MBPP)

FloridaCommerce is required under section 288.980(2), Florida Statutes, to annually request military installations in the state to provide a list of base buffering encroachment lands by October 1. It then provides a list of the encroachment lands to the Florida Defense Support Task Force (Task Force). The Task Force then reviews the lists and provide its recommendations for ranking the identified lands to FloridaCommerce by December 1.

This MBPP Report provides the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund (Board of Trustees) with the Task Force’s recommended priority rankings of lands that military installations in Florida have identified as base buffering encroachment lands. The Board of Trustees may consider whether to acquire such lands in fee simple or less than fee simple title.
